Kairos (καιρός)

An Ancient Greek word meaning “the right moment”, a good and proper time for an action. In Orthodox Christian Theology, this is the appointed time in God’s purpose—the moment, the harvest time—as opposed to Chronos (Χρόνος) — ordinary, chronological time: minutes, hours, days.

While the Earth keeps spinning and our busy lives keep rolling by, we invite you to take a moment for the things that make life extraordinary: authentic connections with our neighbors, growth in timeless wisdom, and a few well-earned comforts (especially coffee and pastries).

Kairos Cafe is envisioned as a place to enjoy, a place of refuge, and a place we’ve always wanted in our hometown. Come and sample the beverages and foods that have been passed down from our diverse backgrounds and experiences, take a moment to browse our selection of books (coming both from Orthodox authors and others we’ve enjoyed), and insert some prayer into your day by visiting our upstairs chapel.
